How to Apply for a US Visa
The United States requires a visa for Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports. Applying for a US visa is a process that requires careful attention, from document preparation to the interview stage. How Does the Application Process Work?
To apply for a US visa, you first complete the DS-160 application form, then pay the visa application fee and schedule an interview appointment. Interviews take place at the US Embassy in Ankara or the Consulate General in Istanbul. If your application is approved after the interview, your passport is sent to your address by courier.
Applicants Who Can Apply Without an Interview
Applicants under the age of 14 and over the age of 80 do not need to attend a visa interview; their applications are prepared and sent to the consulate through PTT. In addition, applicants who previously held a B-1/B-2 visa that expired no more than 48 months ago may renew their visa without an interview, provided they meet certain requirements.

- Bank statements and proof of income
- Social Security Institution (SGK) records and an employer letter for employees; a tax registration certificate and trade registry documents for business owners
- Documents demonstrating your ties to Türkiye, such as property deeds and vehicle registration documents
